Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, maintaining strong season statistics with a .273/.406/.612 slash line despite the team's loss to the Mets.
He also drew a walk. The three-reach game now sees Judge hitting .273/.406/.612 on the year. For many hitters, you'd wonder when regression is coming. Aaron Judge is not many hitters.

Peralta gets his first save with Mason Miller unavailable. The 34-year-old did put the tying run at the plate after allowing a hit and a walk, but he was able to escape without any damage. Carlos Rodon allowed three runs -- two earned -- over 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.
Carlos Rodon allowed three runs over 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Mets, striking out six but struggling with command and walking three batters.
Rodon did strike out six despite seeing his fastball being down to 94.8 mph on average compared to the 95.7 he sported in his debut last weekend. The left-hander saw two runs score on a wild pitch -- yes, two runs on the same wild pitch -- and he walked three while throwing 55-of-88 pitches for strikes. Rodon's stuff looked fine, but the command was a good ways off in this one. He'll be back on the bump Thursday against the Blue Jays.
Performance
David Peterson struck out eight over four innings of two-run baseball to get a win over the Yankees on Saturday.
David Peterson earned a win against the Yankees, striking out eight batters over four innings while allowing two runs in a bulk relief appearance.
Peterson worked behind opener Huascar Brazoban, with Brazoban throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings before exiting. Peterson was solid enough after entering, and he generated 10 swings and misses on 82 pitches. He also walked three and allowed six hits, so he was a bit fortunate to allow just the pair of runs in terms of traffic. He'll likely work again in bulk next week.
Groin · Day-to-Day
Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports that the reason that Brendan Donovan was scratched from the lineup was a "load management" decision.
Brendan Donovan was scratched from the lineup as a load management decision to prevent aggravation of his groin injury from previous surgery.
Usually "load management" is a term reserved for NBA players, but for Seattle, it's about making sure Donovan doesn't aggravate the groin injury that has seen him miss time already in 2026 and required surgery in 2025. When Donovan has played he's been effective, but fantasy managers have to be prepared for some absences for the foreseeable future.

Mitch Garver was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Padres on Saturday.
Mitch Garver was scratched from Saturday's game against the Padres, with the reason for his absence unclear.
Garver was a late scratch from Saturday's game. It's worth noting that the 35-year-old is expected to handle catching duties while Cal Raleigh (oblique) is unable to play, so if Garver needs to miss time, it'll be Jhonny Pereda starting behind the plate until their return.

Walker Buehler picked up a win with five innings of two-run baseball against the Mariners on Saturday.
Walker Buehler earned a win with five innings of two-run baseball against the Mariners, striking out six while maintaining a 5.01 ERA.
Buehler did give up runs in his final two innings; a Cole Young single in the fourth and a J.P. Crawford homer in the fifth. The 31-year-old struck out six against two walks while scattering five hits in the contest. Buehler has pitched well in his last two contests, but his scuffles in previous outings see him still possess a 5.01 ERA. He'll try and keep the good run going against the A's on Friday.

Logan Gilbert surrendered seven runs in 6 2/3 innings to take a loss to the Padres on Saturday.
Logan Gilbert took a loss against the Padres, surrendering seven runs and three homers in 6 2/3 innings.
Gilbert surrendered three homers in the contest, including a three-run homer in the fourth to Nick Castellanos. The 29-year-old was coming off an outstanding effort against the White Sox, but as has been the case for the most of the year, he followed a strong outing with a disappointing effort. Gilbert offers enormous fantasy upside, but his floor has been awfully low. He'll try and get back on the good side against the Royals in Kansas City on Friday.
Performance
Connor Prielipp struck out eight while allowing two runs -- one earned -- over six innings Saturday in a loss to the Brewers.
Connor Prielipp struck out eight batters while allowing two runs over six innings in a loss to the Brewers, setting a new career high in strikeouts.
Prielipp has allowed one or two earned runs in all five of his starts to date, but he has only a 1-2 record to show for it. His eight strikeouts tonight were a new high. He's definitely a mixed-league option at this point, but he's not a great play in a one-start week against the Red Sox in Fenway next weekend.
Performance
Chad Patrick pitched four scoreless innings for his first career save Saturday in a 2-1 game against the Twins.
Chad Patrick earned his first career save by pitching four scoreless innings in relief for the Brewers against the Twins.
Most three-plus inning saves comes in 11-2 games, but not tonight. With Abner Uribe, Trevor Megill and Aaron Ashby all working last night, the Brewers just stuck with Patrick as he allowed one hit, walked none and struck out three over the final four innings. He wound up throwing 52 pitches on three days' rest in his third straight relief appearance. It looks like the Brewers intend to keep him in the pen going forward, making him pretty useless in mixed leagues. He'll remain quite valuable to his major league team, though.
Performance
Logan Henderson yielded one run in five innings and fanned seven to pick up his first win of the year Saturday against the Twins.
Logan Henderson earned his first win of the season with a strong five-inning performance against the Twins, striking out seven and posting a 2.81 ERA over his recent starts.
Henderson left up 2-1, and Chad Patrick held down the fort for the rest of the game. Henderson has a 2.81 ERA and a 20/2 K/BB in 16 innings over three starts since being recalled by the Brewers. With Patrick in the pen, Henderson should survive Brandon Woodruff's return and remain a key piece of the Milwaukee rotation and a valuable fantasy starter going forward.

Devin Williams worked a scoreless ninth to get a save over the Yankees on Saturday.
Devin Williams earned his sixth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning against the Yankees, lowering his ERA to 4.91.
Williams didn't allow a hit, didn't issue a walk, and picked up a strikeout. It's the sixth save of the season, and the scoreless frame lowers his ERA to 4.91. He's locked in as the Mets' closer, but that's not really the compliment it should be.

Juan Soto went 2-for-2 with a run scored and two stolen bases in a 6-3 win for the Mets over the Yankees on Saturday.
Juan Soto went 2-for-2 with a run scored and two stolen bases in the Mets' 6-3 win over the Yankees, showing he's performing well despite dealing with minor discomfort in his foot, elbow, and wrist.
Just hours after it was announced that he's been dealing with discomfort in his foot, elbow and wrist; Soto was able to show they're not bugging him too much with his second and third stolen base of the season. The 27-year-old star also drew a pair of walks, and now hitting a very solid .284/.383/.505 on the campaign. Those are pretty good numbers for the overwhelming majority of hitters, but they're not quite what fantasy managers are hoping for with a player of Soto's capability.

Jacob deGrom allowed four solo home runs over six innings in a loss to the Astros, dropping to 3-3 with a 3.02 ERA.
Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez homered in the first, and Christian Walker and Zach Cole went deep in the fourth. Aside from that, deGrom allowed just one other hit and no walks. He struck out four. It's the second time deGrom has allowed four homers, the other time occurring in 2017 against the Cardinals. Randal Grichuk, Paul DeJong, Dexter Fowler and Jedd Gyorko were responsible then. DeGrom dropped to 3-3 with a 3.02 ERA. He'll face the Angels next week.

Bryan Abreu got a four-out save Saturday, protecting a three-run lead against the Rangers.
Bryan Abreu earned a four-out save against the Rangers, recording hard-hit outs in the eighth and ninth innings.
It took both Enyel De Los Santos and Bryan King to get though the seventh tonight. AJ Blubaugh opened the eighth with two consecutive outs, but he then walked two in a row to get Abreu into the game. Abreu got Justin Foscue to fly out to end the rally and then worked a scoreless ninth while giving up a walk and a single. In all, three of the four outs Abreu recorded came on hard-hit balls. He might earn another save or two before Josh Hader returns, but he hardly seems worth picking up in mixed leagues at this point.

Kai-Wei Teng shut out the Rangers for five innings to earn his first win as a starter Saturday.
Kai-Wei Teng earned his first win as a starter by shutting out the Rangers over five innings with strong pitching numbers.
Teng's previous win came in his first relief appearance on March 28. Teng walked four tonight, but he allowed just two hits and two hard-hit balls. He might prove to be an option in deeper mixed leagues as he continues to build up as a starter. He's allowed just three homers and amassed a 30/12 K/BB in 31 innings to date. He'll face the Cubs next weekend.

Christian Walker hit a solo homer Saturday off Jacob deGrom in the Astros' 4-1 win over the Rangers.
Christian Walker hit a solo homer off Jacob deGrom in the Astros' 4-1 win over the Rangers, though he remains in a 5-for-43 slump with his average dropping from .317 to .266.
Walker is in a 5-for-43 slump, dropping his average from .317 to .266, but three of those five hits have been homers. That Walker has done a nice job cutting back on the strikeouts this season suggests he'll maintain a decent average going forward, but .317 was never realistic. His career-high average is .271, from the shortened 2020 season, and he finished in between .238 and .258 all five years since.

The man they call PCA hit his fifth homer of the season with a two-run shot off Trevor Richards in the ninth inning. Jameson Taillon gave up eight runs in five innings to take a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.
Jameson Taillon had a poor outing against the White Sox, giving up eight runs and five home runs in five innings to take a loss.
Taillon gave up five homers on the day, including two to Munetaka Murakami. The right-hander struck out just two batters on the evening, and he allowed eight hard-hit balls before leaving the contest. Yikes. It's a disappointing effort regardless, but especially considering how well Taillon had pitched in his previous two efforts where gave up three total runs. He'll have a chance to bounce back next weekend versus the Astros.

Davis Martin allowed just a run over six innings while striking out seven in a win over the Cubs on Saturday.
Davis Martin delivered another dominant pitching performance with one run allowed over six innings and seven strikeouts in a win over the Cubs.
It's yet another strong outing for Martin, and if the season did somehow end after Saturday's outing, he might be the Cy Young favorite. Weird, but impressive. He struck out seven, and allowed just a solo homer in terms of run-prevention. His ERA lowered slightly to 1.61 from 1.62, and his K/BB improves to a video game-esque 59/10. He has to be in fantasy lineups next weekend against the Giants.

Munetaka Murakami homered twice to lead the White Sox to an 8-3 win over the Cubs on Saturday.
Munetaka Murakami hit two home runs to lead the White Sox to an 8-3 victory over the Cubs, bringing his season total to 17 homers.
Murakami hit two of the five homers the White Sox procured against a wholly ineffective Jameson Taillon. That brings the rookie's season total to 17, and he also drew a walk and scored a third run for good measure. Murakami's power is undeniable. Whether or not the severe swing-and-miss will come around to make that power not matter is still a question mark, but there's simply no denying that impact he's made to begin 2026.

Aroldis Chapman pitched out a bases loaded jam against the Braves for his 10th save Saturday.
Aroldis Chapman recorded his 10th save against the Braves, escaping a bases-loaded jam despite being hit on the ankle by a comebacker.
There wouldn't have been a jam, except Andruw Monasterio airmailed a throw from short to first on what should have been the final out of the game. Chapman then walked two to lead the bases. Ha-Seong Kim came up and hit a 104-mph comebacker off Chapman's right ankle. Fortunately, though, Chapman was able to gather himself, run down the ball and make the play at first. Chapman didn't seem to favor the ankle on his way off the field, so hopefully he won't miss any time. The save tonight was his 377th, moving him into a tie with Joe Nathan for 10th place on the all-time list.

He gave up a 421-foot homer to Drake Baldwin and had two flyouts that projected as homers in 15 and five ballparks, according to Statcast. Still, it was a pretty impressive showing, especially because he averaged the same 96.5 mph with his fastball in the eighth that he did in the first. Tolle is 2-2 with a 2.05 ERA through five turns, and he'll be a worthy mixed-league play next week against the Twins.

Willson Contreras went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer to lead the Red Sox past the Braves 3-2, breaking out of a slump.
It's important to see Contreras back on the board again, as he had been 2-for-21 since leaving a May 6 game with a left-hand issue that caused him to temporarily switch bats. And that was separate from the right-hand contusion he sustained on a HBP in May 10. He hit the homer tonight 106 mph and also had a 113-mph groundball single.

Ramirez is batting just .227/.353/.384, but he's now the major league leader with 20 steals, overtaking the Nationals' Nasim Nunez. It seems like he's gunning to set a new career high for the third year in a row after finishing at 41 in 2024 and 44 last season.

Pierce Johnson gave up a homer and a walk while facing three batters Saturday against the Guardians.
Pierce Johnson gave up a homer and a walk while facing three batters against the Guardians, and his role appears diminished with the Reds.
Johnson worked in the sixth last night and came into a tie game in the seventh tonight before leaving with Reds down two. So, it's clear Terry Francona has little interest in saving him for the ninth. Maybe he'll pick up a couple of more saves anyway, but he doesn't seem to be worth a roster spot in mixed leagues right now.
Performance
Chris Paddack pitched five innings of two-run ball against the Guardians in his Reds debut Saturday.
Chris Paddack pitched five innings with two runs allowed in his Reds debut against the Guardians, showing improvement over his recent performances with the Marlins.
Paddack left with a two-run lead, but that didn't survive the sixth. He finished the outing with three strikeouts and one walk. He gave up six hits but actually just two hard-hit balls, so this was a stronger performance than any he had before being released by the Marlins. We'd still stay far away from in fantasy leagues. He'll probably start against the Cardinals next weekend.

Cade Smith worked a hitless ninth for his 14th save Saturday against the Reds.
Cade Smith recorded his 14th save in a hitless ninth inning against the Reds, tying him with Mason Miller for the major league lead in saves.

Joey Cantillo surrendered four runs in five innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Reds.
Joey Cantillo allowed four runs in five innings with a no-decision against the Reds, showing mixed performance with a solid ERA but recent struggles in command.
Three of the runs came in the fifth, which started with a bunt single, a sac bunt and then walks to three of the next four batters. Spencer Steer followed with a two-run double on which Sal Stewart was thrown out at home to the inning. That ended Cantillo's evening at 87 pitches. He has a nice 3.40 ERA, but he has gone six innings just twice all year. He also has an ugly 11/11 K/BB in four starts this month after coming in at 34/13 in his first six outings. He'll face the Tigers next week.

Angel Martinez hit a two-run homer, doubled and scored three times Saturday in the Guardians' 7-4 defeat of the Reds.
Angel Martinez hit a two-run homer and scored three times in the Guardians' 7-4 victory over the Reds, improving his season stats to .266/.313/.496.
Martinez's homer off Pierce Johnson in the seventh gave the Guardians a 6-4 lead. He's homered three times in four games to up his season line to .266/.313/.496. Martinez wasn't the choice to step into the leadoff spot against a righty after Steven Kwan's demotion tonight, but at least he's staying in the lineup, and he'll probably hit first or second against lefties. He's a solid choice in mixed leagues right now.

Daulton Varsho hit a go-ahead RBI single in the 10th inning to lead the Blue Jays to a 2-1 extra-inning victory over the Tigers.
Varsho's extra-inning single brought home the Manfred Man and helped Toronto eke out a narrow victory on a day where six different relievers combined to limit Detroit to just one run over 10 innings. The 29-year-old center fielder is hitting .286 (16-for-56) with two homers, seven RBI and one steal over his last 15 games.

Red Sox placed SS Trevor Story on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 15, with a sports hernia.
Trevor Story has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a sports hernia that may require surgery.
The move is now official. It's unclear whether Story will require surgery to address the groin issue that Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy told reporters has been bothering him pretty much all season. The lingering physical issue certainly helps explain his abysmal performance at the plate where he's batted .206/.244/.303 triple-slash line with three homers and four steals through 41 games. It would make sense for the Red Sox to consider moving former top prospect Marcelo Mayer back to shortstop, but all indications are that Andruw Monasterio is going to be their short-term stopgap at the position with Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Nick Sogard taking the occasional turn. There should be some additional clarity on Story's return timeline relatively soon.

Yohendrick Pinango went 2-for-4 with his first career home run during Saturday's extra-inning win over the Tigers.
Yohendrick Pinango hit his first career home run and went 2-for-4 in the Blue Jays' extra-inning win over the Tigers, continuing his strong rookie season with a .364 batting average.
Pinango took Tigers reliever Kyle Finnegan deep for a game-tying solo shot in the seventh inning at Comerica Park. The 24-year-old rookie smashed a line-drive shot traveled just 348 feet and barely cleared the right-field wall. He's been an unexpected revelation for the Blue Jays this season, hitting .364 (16-for-44) with seven RBI through 15 games. There's some sneaky fantasy appeal here, especially if he's going to continue hitting near the top of Toronto's strong lineup.

Casey Mize recorded four strikeouts over six shutout innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Blue Jays.
Casey Mize returned from the injured list and pitched six shutout innings with four strikeouts in a no-decision against Toronto.
Mize looked extremely impressive in his return to Detroit's rotation, limiting Toronto's formidable lineup to just a pair of hits while inducing some ugly looking swings. He generated 10 swinging strikes, with half of those coming on his slider, and needed an economical 71 pitches (51 strikes) to navigate six innings. Clearly, the Tigers didn't want to push him from a workload and stamina perspective in his return from the injured list, which is why he didn't work deeper into this contest. He's compiled an impressive 2.43 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 39/11 K/BB ratio across 37 innings over seven starts this season. He'll face the Guardians his next time out on Thursday.
Performance
Louis Varland fired two scoreless innings on Saturday against the Tigers to pick up a win in relief.
Louis Varland earned a relief win with two scoreless innings against the Tigers, improving to 2-0 on the season with an impressive 0.38 ERA.
Varland struck out pinch-hitter Colt Keith to extinguish a ninth-inning threat and send a tie ballgame to extra innings before coming back out to protect a one-run lead. The hard-throwing 28-year-old coaxed ground balls from Jake Rogers and Kevin McGonigle before striking out Dillon Dingler to end it. It doesn't go down as a save, but fantasy managers will take the win, his second of the season. He's been phenomenal this season, converting five saves to go along with a microscopic 0.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 34/9 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings. He certainly looks like Toronto's primary closer right now.

Mets RHP Clay Holmes was placed on the 15-day injured list after suffering a right fibular fracture when hit by a 111-mph line drive from Yankees rookie Spencer Jones.
Holmes suffered a broken leg when he was nailed by a 111-mph line drive from Yankees rookie Spencer Jones during the fourth inning of Friday's start at Citi Field. Amazingly, he faced seven additional batters prior to exiting the contest when X-rays revealed the fracture in his leg. The unfortunate development is the latest crushing blow to New York's rotation, and a significant hit for fantasy rotations, since he posted a sparkling 2.39 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 45/18 K/BB ratio across 52 2/3 innings over nine starts to open the year. He's facing a lengthy absence and figures to miss at least a couple months. There should be a definitive timetable from the Mets at some point soon. Jack Wenninger, Jonah Tong and Tobias Myers are the logical candidates to take his rotation spot. Wenninger and Tong would be the most intriguing fantasy-wise given their strikeout upside.

Braves manager Walt Weiss told reporters on Friday they'll likely wait until Acuna is ready to play the outfield again before activating him from the injured list. Twins manager Derek Shelton told reporters Buxton was feeling better prior to Friday's series opener, but it sounds like he still needs some additional time off to rest and recover this weekend. Trevor Story is heading to the injured list with a groin injury, according to MassLive.com's Christopher Smith.
Trevor Story is being placed on the injured list with a lingering groin injury after struggling through the season with the Red Sox.
No surprise here after Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy revealed that Story has been playing through a lingering groin issue pretty much all season. The 33-year-old shortstop has struggled to an abysmal .206/.244/.303 triple-slash line with three homers and four steals through 41 games. It'll be Nick Sogard coming up from Triple-A Worcester to fill his roster spot. Putting former top prospect Marcelo Mayer at shortstop would make sense, but it was Andruw Monasterio at shortstop during Friday's series opener in Atlanta.

Jose Berrios will undergo right elbow surgery next week to address a fracture and potential loose bodies, with possible ligament issues to be determined during the procedure, likely resulting in missing the rest of the season.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Berrios will undergo a procedure to address the fracture in his elbow and potential loose bodies. He also added that there may be some ligament issues that need to be addressed, but that won't become clear until surgeons begin operating. There should be a clearer return timeline following the procedure, but fantasy managers should prepare for the possibility that he'll miss the rest of the season. His minor-league track record suggests he'll turn things around rather quickly, especially since his plate skills remain pristine during this latest cold spell.

JJ Bleday went 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI in Friday's win over the Guardians.
JJ Bleday went 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI in Friday's win, continuing an impressive hot streak with a .345/.465/.776 triple-slash line over his last 17 games since being called up from Triple-A.
Bleday's latest multi-hit performance pushes his triple-slash line to a surreal .345/.465/.776 with six homers, 19 RBI and one steal in 17 games since coming up from Triple-A Louisville last month. The 28-year-old has done a remarkable job making hard contact at much more frequent rates than previously in his career with his average exit velocity and hard-hit rate skyrocketing to near-elite levels. He's also pulling the ball in the air 39.5 percent of the time this season, per Statcast, which has enabled him to hit for much more power. He's also chasing out of the zone less frequently and striking out less than ever before. Simply put, there's a lot to like here. He was probably scooped up off waivers a couple weeks ago, but Bleday should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.

Oneil Cruz went 2-for-4 with two RBI and his 16th stolen base of the season in Friday's loss to the Phillies, showcasing his power/speed combo threat.
Cruz's strong performance got lost in the process of teammate Brandon Lowe slugging two homers while Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber went deep for the ninth time in his last eight games. The 27-year-old power/speed combo threat is two steals behind Jose Ramirez and Nasim Nunez for the big-league lead in the stolen base department this season. He's still striking out a ton, but some strides against left-handed pitching have helped make his batting average a bit more palatable than last year's abysmal .200 mark.

Konnor Griffin went 1-for-5 with a run scored during Friday's loss to the Phillies.
Konnor Griffin went 1-for-5 with a run scored in Friday's loss to the Phillies, but has been hitting .294 with strong production in May.
It took a couple weeks for baseball's top prospect to find his stride, but Griffin has been excellent in the early portion of May, hitting .294/.351/.471 with one homer, seven RBI and three steals across 13 contests during that span. The 20-year-old prodigy has the raw talent to eventually develop into a five-category fantasy force, but it may not happen this season. Context matters. Griffin is holding his own in the majors at an age when most of his peers are still in the lower minors or playing in college. His time as a perennial first-round fantasy selection is coming.

Noelvi Marte went 3-for-4 with a grand slam on Friday for Triple-A Louisville.
Noelvi Marte went 3-for-4 with a grand slam in a Triple-A game and is hitting .365 since being demoted on April 13.
Marte isn't hitting for a ton of over-the-fence power with just four homers in 26 games, but he's hitting .365 since being demoted to Triple-A back on April 13. The 24-year-old former top prospect's path to fantasy relevance continues to be blocked by Cincinnati's logjam at several spots at the highest level, especially with both Spencer Steer and JJ Bleday playing well. It's possible injuries or ineffectiveness create a pathway to at-bats later this summer. He seemingly has nothing to prove playing everyday on the doorstep of the majors.
Neck Soreness · Rehab Assignment
Jeremy Pena (hamstring) went 0-for-5 on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Double-A Corpus Christi.

Pena returned to action after sitting out a couple rehab contests earlier this week following an on-field collision that left him dealing with neck soreness. Elbow - Tommy John · Rehab Assignment
Dodgers RHP prospect River Ryan recorded four strikeouts and allowed one run over four innings on Friday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Dodgers prospect River Ryan returned to minor-league action with strong performance, showing full velocity recovery following Tommy John surgery.
Ryan hit triple digits six times and topped out at 100.9 mph in his first minor-league start since April 11. He averaged 98.6 mph on his four-seam fastball and generated nine swinging strikes during the 53-pitch outing. The fact that his fastball velocity is back to pre-Tommy John surgery levels is an extremely encouraging sign. The 27-year-old former top pitching prospect hasn't toed the rubber in the big leagues since 2024. Blake Snell unexpectedly landing on the injured list, and facing a lengthy absence, makes him the logical choice to step into Los Angeles' six-man rotation and gives him immediate fantasy appeal as a viable streaming option. He could potentially get the ball next Friday against the Brewers.
Elbow · Rehab Assignment
Enrique Hernandez (elbow) went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two walks on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Enrique Hernandez went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two walks in a Triple-A rehab game as he continues his recovery from an elbow injury sustained last year.
Hernandez will need a bit of an extended rehab assignment since he's been on the shelf recovering from last year's elbow issue since spring training wrapped up. The 34-year-old super-utility specialist should be ready to make his season debut before the end of May.

Blake Snell is likely to undergo surgery to remove loose bodies from his left elbow and will be sidelined for an extended period.
Nothing official from the Dodgers after Snell landed on the injured list prior to Friday's scheduled start against the Angels with an elbow injury. The 33-year-old southpaw spent the first seven weeks of the season working his way back from offseason shoulder issues. It's worth noting that Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed optimism that Snell would pitch again this season, but that's hardly a lock. He can be safely dropped in shallow fantasy formats where roster spots are at a premium. It'll likely be former top pitching prospect River Ryan taking his rotation spot next week.

Logan O'Hoppe was removed from Friday's game against the Dodgers due to left wrist irritation, with his status to be determined over the weekend.
Angels manager Kurt Suzuki told reporters O'Hoppe was removed from Friday's series opener as a precaution after experiencing pain in his left wrist, which is the the same one in which he suffered a small fracture last month. Suzuki added that O'Hoppe did not require X-rays. The 26-year-old backstop could be headed back to the injured list if the discomfort doesn't subside this weekend. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters after the game that Holmes will be out "for a long time." It's another massive blow to New York's rotation as Holmes had been exceptional so far this season with a 2.39 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 45/18 K/BB ratio across 52 2/3 innings across nine starts. Luis Arraez went 4-for-5 and hit his first homer against the A's on Friday.
Luis Arraez went 4-for-5 with his first home run of the season against the A's, raising his batting average to .317.
Arraez doesn't have a barrel yet, but he's on the board with a homer after a 350-foot fly to right off Aaron Civale tonight. The ball was hit 98.2 mph at a 43-degree launch angle. The four-hit game was also his first of the season, pushing his average up to .317.

Tyler Mahle fell to 1-5 after allowing five runs and 10 hits in five innings against the A's, with concerns about his elevated home run rate this season.
Nick Kurtz hit a three-run homer off Mahle tonight, bringing Mahle's total of homers allowed to nine in nine starts. Last year, it was five in 16 starts, but that already seemed like a fluke at the time. Mahle does have 42 strikeouts in 41 2/3 innings, so his rotation spot shouldn't be in jeopardy just yet. He'll due to face the Diamondbacks in each of his next two starts.

Hogan Harris picked up his third save with a scoreless ninth in a three-run game against the Giants on Friday.
Hogan Harris recorded his third save with a scoreless ninth inning against the Giants, establishing himself as a key reliever option in Sacramento's bullpen.
Jack Perkins has blown two save chances in a row, so the ninth is again wide open in Sacramento. Since Harris is the team's top lefty, it's not always going to make sense to save him for the ninth inning. Still, he figures to remain very much in the mix for saves. He has a 2.45 ERA despite having walked 17 in 22 innings.
Performance
Aaron Civale yielded two runs in five innings Friday in a win over the Giants.
Aaron Civale pitched five innings with two runs allowed in a win over the Giants, improving to 5-1 with a 2.70 ERA.
Civale fanned only two and allowed homers to Luis Arraez and Harrison Bader, but nothing else did any damage. He's a pretty stunning 5-1 with a 2.70 ERA to date. It still seems like a good idea to stay away from him in mixed leagues, but for those interested, he'll face the Angels on the road next time out.
Performance
Nick Kurtz hit a three-run homer Friday as the A's topped the Giants 5-2.
Nick Kurtz hit a three-run homer to lead the A's to a 5-2 victory over the Giants, extending his hitting streak to three consecutive games with homers.
Kurtz has homered in three straight games after going 15 in a row without one. Tonight's was a 417-footer off Tyler Mahle. Since debuting last April, Kurtz has 44 homers, 115 RBI, 118 runs scored and 103 walks in 160 games. He's fanned 210 times, too, but that doesn't seem like much of a concern at this point.

Sung-Mun Song went 1-for-4 with an RBI groundout in the Padres' 2-0 win over the Mariners, continuing his early MLB stint with a .176 batting average.
The RBI came on a groundout in the seventh, making in a 2-0 game. Song had a basehit earlier, though, and he had a nice drive to the warning track for a flyout in the ninth. If only the game had been played in GABP or Yankee Stadium, rather than Petco, that might have been good for his first MLB home run. Song is batting .176/.300/.235 through his first 20 plate appearances.

Emerson Hancock pitched six innings of one-run ball and struck out six Friday against the Padres.
Emerson Hancock pitched six strong innings with six strikeouts against the Padres but took a loss as the Mariners failed to score.
Hancock gave up 11 hard-hit balls, but the Padres managed only four singles and a double against him. It was a performance worthy of a win, but since the Mariners failed to score in the 2-0 loss, Hancock dropped to 3-2 with a 3.02 ERA. He'll make his next start Wednesday at home against the White Sox.
Performance
Mason Miller got four outs for his 14th save Friday against the Mariners.
Mason Miller earned his 14th save of the season by pitching four outs across two innings against the Mariners.
Miller came into a 2-0 game with two outs in the eighth and gave up an infield single before striking out Connor Joe to end the rally. In the ninth, he walked J.P. Crawford to lead off the inning and gave up a one-out single to Cole Young, but he struck out the other three batters he faced. On the last of those, he retired Brendan Donovan on five pitches, only one of which was in the strike zone. Miller threw 34 pitches tonight, so he might get Saturday off. That would probably put Jason Adam in line for a save opportunity.

Randy Vasquez allowed four hits over six innings in the Padres' 2-0 shutout of the Mariners on Friday.
Randy Vasquez pitched six scoreless innings with four hits and three strikeouts as the Padres shut out the Mariners 2-0.

In the fifth, Jhonny Pereda hit a liner to left with a .960 xBA, only to watch Ramon Laureano make a diving catch in left field and then double Cole Young off second base. Vasquez improved to 5-1 with a 2.68 ERA. He has a home start against the Dodgers coming up next week.

Zach Neto went 1-for-4 with two walks in the Angels' 6-0 loss to the Dodgers, but the article criticizes manager Kurt Suzuki for batting him sixth despite his strong .343 OBP.
Batting Neto sixth certainly wasn't the difference between winning and losing a 6-0 game tonight, but this is still some nonsense from novice manager Kurt Suzuki. At .343, Neto is second on the Angels in OBP. He ought to be hitting ahead of Mike Trout and not Josh Lowe.

Jack Kochanowicz was tagged for six runs and three homers over six innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Friday.
Jack Kochanowicz allowed six runs and three homers over six innings in a loss to the Dodgers, falling to 2-3 with a 4.56 ERA.
Kochanowicz gave up two homers and four runs in the fourth, but the Angels wanted more innings from him tonight and got him through the sixth at a cost of two more runs. It was probably the right strategy, as the offense never showed any sign of taking advantage of a bullpen game from the Dodgers staff. Kochanowicz fell to 2-3 with a 4.56 ERA ahead of a start next week against the A's.
