Jordan Wicks, Chicago Cubs left-handed pitcher, suffered a left forearm radial nerve irritation in late February and was placed on the 15-day IL before the regular season. He began rehab starts on April 18 with the Iowa Cubs. While his first two rehab starts showed promise (3 scoreless innings and 2⅔ scoreless innings respectively), his last two outings have been concerning. He allowed 12 runs over 5⅔ innings in his final two starts against Triple-A St. Paul, including 6 runs on 7 hits with 3 home runs in 2 innings on April 28 and 6 runs on 9 hits in 3⅔ innings on Sunday. Through 21.1 rehab innings, he posted a 5.48 ERA and 1.78 WHIP with an 18:10 K:BB ratio. He was activated and optioned to Triple-A Iowa on May 16, given a clean bill of health but remaining in the minors due to poor performance metrics.
