Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Quinn Priester, a 25-year-old right-handed pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, has suffered multiple setbacks in his recovery from neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) affecting his right arm. Originally placed on the injured list before the 2026 season with a nerve issue causing intermittent pain, Priester was assigned to a rehab program in Triple-A Nashville starting April 22. However, his rehab has been problematic: in three rehab starts (April 22 - May 1), he posted a 16.20 ERA, allowed 9 earned runs in 5 innings, struggled with command (37 strikes on 62 pitches in his final start), and showed diminished velocity. He was pulled from his rehab assignment on May 1 due to shoulder soreness and placed back on the injured list with no set timetable for return. Manager Pat Murphy indicated this is a setback rather than a new injury, but the development of shoulder pain during rehab is concerning. Priester was a breakout performer in 2025 (13-3, 3.32 ERA, 1.24 WHIP in 157 1/3 innings), but his 2026 season remains in jeopardy.
