Nate Lowe -- Injury Report

Injury Report sources for Nate Lowe of the Cincinnati Reds

Cincinnati Reds designated hitter Eugenio Suárez sustained a low-grade oblique injury during batting practice last Friday and was placed on the injured list Saturday. Manager Terry Francona indicated the injury is believed to be mild, with hopes that Suárez could begin ramping up near the end of the week if symptoms resolve within 5-6 days. An MRI confirmed the diagnosis. In Suárez's absence, Nathaniel Lowe has stepped into increased DH duties and is currently experiencing a power surge. The 30-year-old veteran joined the Reds as a minor league free agent in February after a down statistical year with the Washington Nationals in 2025. Despite the challenges of a transition year, Lowe has impressed the organization and earned a spot on the Opening Day roster. Lowe acknowledged the Reds were transparent about his role from the start, noting he understands he may not be an everyday player but is ready to contribute when opportunities arise. He expressed confidence that his performance would improve as he builds rhythm with more at-bats, stating "The ball isn't flying exactly the way I want it to yet... If you do something simple like that, good things are going to happen."
