Scouting Report: Ray Black
Milwaukee Brewers | RP
Overall
Summary
Ray Black was optioned to Triple-A Nashville by the Milwaukee Brewers to make room for Christian Yelich's return from injury. Black served as a DH/corner outfielder during Yelich's absence and performed well, but has limited playing time prospects with Yelich, Andrew Vaughn, Jake Bauers, and the catching tandem of William Contreras and Gary Sánchez all competing for at-bats. This is Black's final minor league option year, and his future with the organization remains uncertain.
Strengths
- Performed well as DH during Yelich's month-long absence
- Brewers ranked 8th in scoring while he was getting regular at-bats
