Scouting Report: Greg Jones
Milwaukee Brewers | RF
Overall
Summary
Greg Jones, a first-round pick by the Rays in 2019, was outrighted to Triple-A by the Brewers after clearing waivers. Jones was designated for assignment on May 8, 2024, when the Brewers recalled Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn from injury. In his brief 11-game MLB debut with Milwaukee, Jones went 2-21 with 9 strikeouts across 22 plate appearances. Originally a shortstop with elite speed and power potential, Jones was moved to center field due to defensive concerns. He has bounced between multiple organizations (Rays, Rockies, White Sox, Houston, Milwaukee) and has struggled to establish himself at the major league level. Jones is out of options and needed to clear waivers before assignment to Triple-A.
