Scouting Report: Cole Uvila
Milwaukee Brewers | RP
Overall
Summary
Cole Ragans, 28-year-old All-Star LHP for the Kansas City Royals, was placed on the 15-day injured list retroactive to May 7 with left elbow impingement (Valgus Extension Overload/VEO or "pitcher's elbow"). He exited his Wednesday start against Cleveland after 3 innings with soreness and tightness in his triceps and elbow. The Royals administered a lubricant injection and plan to shut him down 3-4 days before resuming baseball activities. Manager Matt Quatraro expects a minimal IL stay. Ragans has undergone Tommy John surgery twice previously (2018, 2019) but stated this injury feels different. No structural damage was found. Current season ERA is 4.84 over 8 starts with 10 HRs allowed in 35.1 IP. Stephen Kolek was recalled to replace him in the rotation.
