All-Star LHP Cole Ragans placed on 15-day injured list retroactive May 7 with left elbow impingement (Valgus Extension Overload/VEO or "pitcher's elbow"). Ragans exited Wednesday start against Cleveland after 3 innings with triceps and elbow discomfort. Received lubricant injection; will be shut down 3-4 days before resuming baseball activities. Manager Matt Quatraro expects minimal IL stay. No structural damage confirmed; Ragans has had two prior Tommy John surgeries (2018, 2019) but states this injury feels different. Currently posting 4.84 ERA in 8 starts this season with 10 HRs allowed in 35.1 IP. Stephen Kolek recalled to replace in rotation.
