Scouting Report: Hunter Harvey
Chicago Cubs | RP
Overall
Summary
Cubs right-hander Hunter Harvey suffered a significant setback in his recovery from triceps inflammation when an MRI revealed a stress reaction in his right triceps area on May 8. After being placed on the 15-day IL on April 9 (last game April 8), Harvey was progressing through his throwing program but experienced soreness during a bullpen session. Manager Craig Counsell announced Harvey will be shut down for at least another month. This is the latest in a long line of injuries that have plagued Harvey's career. He signed a one-year, $6.5MM deal with the Cubs but appeared in only four games, posting a 6.75 ERA over four innings before the injury occurred. Harvey has a history of injury issues, having missed significant time with various ailments throughout his career since debuting in 2019.
