Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash provided a positive update on outfielder Cedric Mullins' recovery from back tightness. Mullins has not played since Tuesday when the injury occurred, but Cash indicated he is making good progress. The veteran will resume on-field work Sunday as part of his recovery process. Mullins is being managed on a day-to-day basis and is expected to continue improving. Assuming he can play in additional Grapefruit League games before the regular season begins, Mullins should be positioned to enter the season as part of a platoon arrangement in center field, maintaining his role as the stronger side of that split.
