Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Eric Wagaman, 28-year-old infielder/outfielder, was designated for assignment by the Mets on May 3, 2026, and subsequently outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse after clearing waivers. He was claimed off waivers from the Minnesota Twins in late April but never appeared in a game for the Mets. Wagaman has struggled in his MLB opportunities, posting a .250/.293/.381 slash line with an 85 wRC+ across 588 plate appearances with the Angels (2024) and Marlins (2025). In Triple-A play this season, he has a combined .191/.317/.294 slash line across 20 games. Despite strong minor league performance from 2022-2024 (131 wRC+, .276/.348/.473), his transition to the majors has been disappointing.
