Matt Brash, a relief pitcher for the Seattle Mariners, has been dealing with right lat inflammation since April 29, 2026. He was placed on the injured list after leaving a game with the injury after just two pitches. Brash began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma in mid-May. In his rehab appearances, he showed mixed results - striking out all three batters in his first outing while touching 96 mph, but struggling with command in his second outing with two walks in two-thirds of an inning. He displayed some concerning body language and movement issues during the second rehab game, though he left under his own power. The Mariners are taking a cautious approach with his return, monitoring his progress closely. Prior to the injury, Brash had an excellent 2025 season with a 2.47 ERA across 53 games and had not allowed a run in 14 appearances in 2026 before the injury.
