Roman Anthony, 21-year-old Red Sox outfielder, placed on 10-day IL (retroactive to Tuesday) due to right hand/wrist sprain sustained during Monday's game vs. Detroit. Anthony is optimistic about returning by May 15 and plans to play the day after IL eligibility. Despite strong 2025 rookie season (.292/.396/.463, 3rd in AL ROY voting), Anthony has struggled early in 2026 with a .229 average, .675 OPS in 30 games. Also dealt with back soreness earlier this season. Red Sox recalled Mickey Gasper from Triple-A Worcester.
