Sugano stranded a runner in the first inning, then gave up a run on two hits in the second. He stranded three runners over the next two frames, then gave up one more run on a pair of doubles in the fifth. Sugano's day would be done after five innings at 88 pitches. He struck out just one. The 36-year-old right-hander will take a 4.02 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 25/14 K/BB ratio across 47 innings into a start against the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Thursday.
