Yimi García, 35-year-old right-handed reliever for the Toronto Blue Jays, underwent elbow surgery in September 2025 to clean up scar tissue. He began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on May 9, 2026, after missing the entire 2026 season to date. In his first rehab appearance, he recorded 2 outs while allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits. However, he experienced more soreness than expected post-appearance, causing a brief delay in his next rehab outing. García has not pitched since July 2, 2025, and may not return to the Blue Jays until late May or early June. He is eligible to return from the 60-day IL in the final week of May.
