Scouting Report: Blake Sabol
Tampa Bay Rays | C
Overall
Summary
Blake Snell, the Dodgers' $182 million left-handed ace and two-time Cy Young Award winner, has been placed on the injured list with loose bodies in his left elbow requiring surgery. This is his second significant injury of the season, having previously missed the first six weeks with left shoulder fatigue and inflammation before making his season debut on May 10. Snell allowed four earned runs over three innings in that start before the new elbow injury was detected during catch play on May 15. He underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove the loose bodies with the expectation of returning sometime in July or August, similar to the timeline for Tigers ace Tarik Skubal who had the same procedure. The Dodgers remain optimistic he will return this season, but he will miss significant time either way.
Strengths
- Dodgers confident he will return this season
- Same surgical procedure as Tarik Skubal who has shorter recovery timeline
