Scouting Report: Packy Naughton

St Louis Cardinals | RP

Overall

IL-60

Summary

Packy Naughton, 30-year-old Cardinals left-handed pitcher, has suffered another devastating elbow injury setback. After an impressive spring training with a 1.29 ERA in seven appearances, Naughton was sent to Triple-A Memphis to build up before joining the major league bullpen. However, he suffered an elbow injury in one of his first Triple-A appearances (3.86 ERA in three games) and will undergo elbow surgery in June 2026. This marks the third significant elbow injury in his career - he previously underwent flexor tendon repair surgery in 2023 (season-ending) and re-tore his flexor tendon requiring surgery again in 2024. The extent of the current injury and return timeline will not be determined until surgery is completed. Naughton did not pitch in 2025 and has had brutal injury luck throughout his comeback attempts.
