Jared Shuster, 27-year-old left-handed pitcher and former Atlanta Braves first-round pick (2020), has been designated for assignment by the St. Louis Cardinals for the second time in 2026. After clearing waivers, he was outrighted to Triple-A Memphis. In four MLB appearances this season, Shuster posted a 2.35 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 7.2 innings, but has struggled at the Triple-A level with a 7.25 ERA over the past two seasons. The Cardinals made this move to activate reliever Matt Pushard from the injured list.
