Osleivis Basabe, a 25-year-old infielder (DOB: 9/13/2000), was acquired by the Giants from the Rays in May 2026 after being designated for assignment. Basabe is a longtime minor leaguer signed as an international free agent by the Rangers in 2018, later acquired by the Rays in 2020. He has one option year remaining. Recently promoted to Triple-A Sacramento (River Cats), Basabe hit his 3rd home run on 5/12/2026.
