Summary
Nick Pivetta went on the injured list in April 2026 with a flexor strain in his elbow. As of mid-May 2026, he has not yet started throwing and has no timeline for return. Padres president AJ Preller stated that Pivetta and Joe Musgrove are "not talking about days or weeks" for their return, indicating it will be a lengthy rehabilitation process. Pivetta had an excellent 2025 season with the Padres (2.87 ERA over 31 starts, 190 strikeouts in 181.2 innings) but struggled early in 2026 with a 4.50 ERA over four starts before the injury.
