Johan Oviedo, a 28-year-old right-handed pitcher acquired by the Boston Red Sox from the Pittsburgh Pirates, is currently on the 60-day injured list with a right flexor strain. He was placed on the IL after just one appearance in early April 2026. The Red Sox shut him down for six weeks and he will be reevaluated by Dr. Keith Meister (who performed his previous Tommy John surgery) in two weeks to determine his rehabilitation progress and next steps.
