Milwaukee Brewers | SP

Overall

IL-60

Summary

Cubs right-hander Hunter Harvey suffered a setback in his recovery from triceps inflammation, with an MRI revealing a stress reaction in his triceps area. Harvey will be out of action for at least another month and is expected to be moved to the 60-day IL. This marks yet another extended absence for a pitcher whose career has been defined by injuries. Harvey last pitched on April 8 and has a history of various ailments including teres major strain and Grade 2 adductor strain in 2025. When healthy, Harvey has shown solid results with a 3.07 ERA, 27.4% strikeout rate, and 6.5% walk rate over 161 1/3 innings with the Nationals and Royals from 2022-25. However, with the Cubs in 2026, he posted a 6.75 ERA over four innings before the triceps issue arose.

Strengths

  • Solid career ERA of 3.07 when healthy
  • Strong strikeout rate of 27.4%
