Scouting Report: Andrew Mitchell
Milwaukee Brewers | RP
Overall
Summary
Garrett Mitchell, 27-year-old Milwaukee Brewers center fielder, was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to illness but returned to the starting lineup by Saturday. Mitchell is struggling significantly at the plate in 2026, hitting .219 (21-for-96) with 1 HR, 21 RBI, 5 SB in 32 games through early May. After a hot start (.273/.437/.436 through 20 games), he has collapsed with a .424 OPS over the next 15 games and is hitting just .129/.176/.161 since May 1st. His primary issue is an alarming 37.5% whiff rate (6th-worst in MLB) and a 41.2% strikeout rate in May with only 2 walks in 34 plate appearances. Despite elite exit velocities and a patient approach, Mitchell continues to struggle with consistency and bat control. He is only rostered in 10% of Yahoo leagues.
