Scouting Report: Chris Paddack
Miami Marlins | SP
Overall
Summary
Chris Paddack, 30-year-old veteran RHP, was designated for assignment by the Miami Marlins after a disastrous stint. Signed to a one-year, $4MM deal in the offseason, Paddack made 7 appearances (6 starts) and posted a 0-5 record with a 7.63 ERA over 30 2/3 innings. He completed 6 innings in only one appearance and was removed after allowing 7 runs in 2 2/3 innings in his final outing against Philadelphia. Despite a strong spring training performance, his regular season performance was poor. He was subsequently released by Miami and signed by the Cincinnati Reds on May 13, who hope he can contribute to their depleted rotation.
Strengths
- Strong spring training performance (2 runs, 13 innings)
- One quality start against Detroit (6 innings, 2 runs)
