Scouting Report: Nick Senzel
Los Angeles Dodgers | 3B
Overall
Summary
Nick Senzel, the 2nd overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate (Oklahoma City Comets) in May 2026 after a disappointing start to the season. Despite an impressive spring training performance with a 1.062 OPS across 20 games with the Dodgers, Senzel struggled significantly in Triple-A, posting a .545 OPS through 23 games with a .179 batting average, 2 home runs, and 13 RBIs. He had previously signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers in April 2025 and spent the 2025 season in their minor league system with a .749 OPS across 99 games. Senzel's MLB career with the Cincinnati Reds (2019-2023) saw his performance decline after a solid rookie season, and he has been unable to recapture that early promise.
Strengths
- Excellent spring training performance (1.062 OPS, 3 HR, 11 RBI in 20 games)
- Demonstrated power potential with exit velocity among top Dodgers bats (108.1 mph)
