Max Muncy, 23-year-old Athletics third baseman, was placed on the 10-day injured list on April 26, 2026 with a left-hand fifth metacarpal fracture sustained from a hit-by-pitch on April 23. As of mid-May, he has not resumed any baseball activities and has no clear timetable for return. Early reports indicated he would not return until June. By May 19, he began a swing progression but remained without a definitive return date. Before the injury, Muncy was hitting .239 (22-for-92) with 2 HR and 7 RBI in 26 games.
