Peyton Gray is a 30-year-old Rangers rookie pitcher who has had an inspiring journey from undrafted status to MLB. After an impressive start with no runs allowed in his first four appearances and 18 scoreless innings (including Triple-A), Gray took a line drive off his right wrist in the 8th inning against the Yankees on May 7, 2026. X-rays showed no fracture, but he left the game with a large welt and bloody abrasion. His scoreless streak ended in the same game when he allowed a run in the 7th inning. Gray is expected to miss at least a few days for recovery.
