Scouting Report: Wilker Reyes
Houston Astros | RP
Overall
Summary
Wilker Reyes is a young outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays who was recently placed on the 10-day injured list with right elbow inflammation. He had just returned from a 33-day absence due to a right ankle sprain and played in only one game before being sidelined again. During his brief return, Reyes made an immediate impact with a 101.2-mph throw from right field to cut down a runner at home. However, he developed right elbow swelling following that game. An MRI ruled out structural ligament damage or loose bodies. He received a cortisone shot and is expected to resume baseball activities within days, with hopes of returning to the roster within a week if he only requires the minimum 10-day IL stint.
Strengths
- Strong throwing arm (101.2 mph from outfield)
- Immediate impact upon return with clutch defensive play
