Ty Madden was hit by a 107.9-mph line drive on his right forearm in the third inning of Friday's game against Toronto and was removed from the game. X-rays came back negative for fractures, though additional testing was planned as a precaution. Madden is tentatively lined up to start Wednesday against the Guardians pending how he feels and test results. The right-hander was recalled from Triple-A Toledo to replace injured starter Tarik Skubal and has impressed in his early 2026 MLB appearances, throwing five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in his debut on May 4 against Boston, and covering six relief innings with three runs allowed on May 10 against Kansas City.
