Summary
Cole Ragans, Kansas City Royals left-handed pitcher, was placed on the 15-day injured list retroactive to May 7th due to left elbow impingement (valgus extension overload, also known as "pitcher's elbow"). Ragans exited his start after throwing 58 pitches over three innings, reporting soreness and tightness in his triceps and elbow. He has a history of two previous Tommy John surgeries (2018, 2019) but indicated this injury feels different. Manager Matt Quatraro initially called the removal precautionary, but subsequent evaluation led to the IL placement.
