Max Scherzer, 41-year-old Toronto Blue Jays right-hander, is recovering from right forearm tendinitis and left ankle inflammation. Placed on the 15-day IL retroactive to April 26. After throwing a bullpen session of 22 pitches, Scherzer reported his forearm was not responding as hoped. He received a cortisone shot in his right forearm and is observing a five-day no-throw period before resuming mound work.
