Overall
Summary
Carlos Santana, 40-year-old Diamondbacks first baseman, suffered a setback in his rehab from a right groin strain on April 5. While rehabbing with Triple-A Reno, Santana felt a twinge in the injured area on Saturday and returned to Arizona for further evaluation. This is his fifth IL stint in a 17-year career and is expected to be his longest absence since 2010. Santana started the season poorly, going 2-for-24 with no home runs or RBIs in eight games before the injury. He signed a one-year, $2M deal with Arizona after hitting .219 with 11 HRs and 54 RBIs split between Cleveland and Chicago in 2025.
