Nick Sandlin, 29-year-old right-handed reliever, signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers after being waived by the Los Angeles Angels. Sandlin struggled significantly with the Angels in 2026, posting an 11.42 ERA over 8.2 innings with poor command and a career-low 10.2% swinging strike rate. He underwent elbow surgery in the offseason after missing most of 2025 with the Toronto Blue Jays.
