Summary

Trent Thornton, 32-year-old right-handed pitcher, has made a successful return to MLB with the Chicago Cubs after recovering from a torn left Achilles tendon suffered in August 2025. Thornton was activated from Triple-A Iowa in late April after fully recovering from surgery and was selected to the Cubs' 26-man roster on May 6, 2026. In his return, he has appeared in four games, tossing five scoreless innings with strong performances including two shutout frames in a win against the White Sox.
