Summary

Endy Rodriguez, a former cornerstone prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates, has returned to the team after missing significant time due to multiple elbow injuries. He underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow and missed all of 2024. He returned in early 2025 but suffered additional injuries including a right hand laceration and elbow inflammation. Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on May 14, 2026, to replace Joey Bart on the injured list. He recorded his first major league hit in nearly a year during a 7-2 Pirates victory over Colorado. At Triple-A, he batted .221/.326/.301 with 6 doubles, 1 home run, and 16 RBIs in 34 games, splitting time between catcher and designated hitter.
