Summary
Hunter Harvey, 31-year-old Cubs right-handed reliever signed to a $6.5MM one-year deal, suffered a significant setback in his recovery from right triceps inflammation. An MRI revealed a stress reaction in his upper triceps area after he experienced soreness during a bullpen session on May 8, 2026. Harvey will be shut down for at least another four weeks and moved to the 60-day IL. He has already missed over a month of action since his last appearance on April 8. Harvey posted a 6.75 ERA over four innings in four appearances before the initial injury. This represents another chapter in a career plagued by injuries, with 12+ previous IL stints.
