Summary
Addison Barger, 26-year-old Blue Jays right fielder, recently returned from a 33-day absence due to right ankle sprain but was placed back on the injured list after just one game. He experienced right elbow inflammation following a 101.2 mph throw to home plate on May 9, 2026. MRI revealed no structural ligament damage, loose bodies, or other serious issues. He received a cortisone shot and is expected to resume baseball activities within days. Manager John Schneider indicated the elbow issue was pre-existing and not caused by the throw. Barger is expected to return within the 10-day IL minimum if recovery progresses as hoped.
