Summary
Hunter Brown (27-year-old RHP for Houston Astros) suffered a Grade 2 right shoulder strain in early April 2026 and was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 9, 2026. He has progressed well in his recovery, completing a successful bullpen session on Friday and is expected to return by mid-June. Brown was an All-Star in 2025 with a 2.43 ERA and 206 strikeouts. He started 2026 strong with 17 strikeouts across 10.2 innings before the injury. Manager Joe Espada noted Brown is eager to return and progressing well mentally. The Astros plan to have him throw multiple bullpen sessions before a minor-league rehab assignment.
