Summary
Cal Raleigh, the 2025 AL MVP runner-up and 60 home run leader, has experienced a dramatic regression in 2026. The star catcher is hitting .161 (second-lowest in MLB among qualified hitters) with 7 home runs in 41 games after an historic 2025 season. Raleigh was placed on the 10-day IL on May 15, 2026 with a right oblique strain after aggravating the injury during a game against Houston on May 14. He had been dealing with general right-side soreness since early May. The Mariners expect a short absence (1-2 weeks) with PRP treatment and rest.
