Summary

Juan Soto fouled a ball off his right foot/ankle in the third inning on May 13, 2026 against the Tigers but remained in the game initially. He was removed in the seventh inning due to discomfort. X-rays came back negative and he was ruled day-to-day. Soto returned to the lineup the next day (May 14) and homered in a 9-4 win over Detroit. Through 32 games in 2026, he is batting .281 with 6 home runs, 16 RBIs, and a .873 OPS. He was named to the All-MLB First Team Poll as one of the three outfielders. Despite the Mets' struggles (21-26 record, 25th in offensive metrics), Soto has been a consistent bright spot carrying much of the offensive load.
