Overall

Summary

Jackson Holliday (note: sources reference both "Jackson Holliday" and "Jordan Holloway") has been sidelined since February 6, 2026 with a fractured right hamate bone suffered during live batting practice. After undergoing surgery on February 12, his recovery has been complicated by lingering pain, wrist overcompensation issues, and multiple setbacks. He began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk in late March but was shut down on April 21 after experiencing pain during a swing. As of early May, he started a fresh rehab assignment with Double-A Chesapeake. The Orioles are cautiously optimistic about his return, with plans to give him reps at third base during rehab to add defensive versatility. His absence has been significant for Baltimore's infield, which has struggled defensively (posting -10 DRS and ranking in the 5th percentile in OAA at second base in 2025).

Strengths

  • Young prospect with high ceiling (former No. 1 overall prospect)
  • Organization showing patience with recovery process
