Summary
Smith Bailey, a sophomore right-handed pitcher at Arizona, has been shut down for the remainder of the 2026 season due to a soft tissue shoulder injury. Bailey exited his start against Kansas after two innings on Saturday and was officially ruled out by coach Chip Hale on Wednesday. He posted a 3-4 record with a 4.67 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 61.2 innings this season, down from a standout freshman campaign (3-3, 3.94 ERA) that helped Arizona reach the College World Series.
