Summary
Jacob Wilson, Athletics shortstop and 2025 AL Rookie of the Year runner-up, suffered a dislocated left shoulder on May 10, 2026, while diving to cut off an infield single against the Orioles. He was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactively to May 11. Wilson was seen wearing a sling and underwent imaging to determine the full extent of the injury. His season could potentially be in jeopardy depending on the severity. Wilson signed a seven-year, $70MM extension this offseason but has seen his performance decline in 2026 (.292/.311/.398 with 3 HR in 168 PA) compared to his stellar 2025 rookie season (.311/.355/.444 with 13 HR in 523 PA).
