Summary
Juan Soto fouled a ball off his right ankle in the third inning of Wednesday's game vs. Detroit Tigers and was removed in the seventh inning. X-rays came back negative. He returned to the lineup Thursday and hit a home run. Soto is dealing with his second injury setback of the season after missing two weeks with a calf strain earlier. Through 26 games, he has a .271 batting average, .366 OBP, .824 OPS, 4 HRs and 11 RBIs. Recent performance shows struggles with a 4-for-34 stretch over his last nine games. The Mets' lineup has offered little protection and the team is struggling offensively with a .225 team batting average.
