Summary
Konnor Griffin is a 20-year-old Pirates shortstop and consensus top prospect who signed a $140 million, nine-year deal in April. The phenom made an impressive MLB debut on April 3 with an RBI double and has shown tremendous power, speed, and defensive range. Through his first 30+ games, Griffin is batting .258 with 18 RBI and a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases. Since turning 20 on April 24, he has heated up significantly, batting .352/.410/.556 with two home runs, 10 RBI, and five stolen bases in 15 games. He has hit safely in seven of eight games in May, batting .345 (10-for-29) with three doubles, a triple, and five RBI. Griffin is known for his faith-based approach and draws a cross in the dirt before each at-bat. He is part of an impressive 2026 rookie class making a major impact in MLB.
