Scouting Report: Corbin Martin
Chicago Cubs | RP
Overall
Summary
Corbin Martin, 30-year-old right-handed reliever, was designated for assignment by the Cubs on May 7, 2026, after appearing in seven games with a 10.80 ERA. He initially pitched well with four scoreless innings and a save, but struggled in his last three appearances, allowing six earned runs on four hits (including two home runs) and four walks over just three innings. Martin was subsequently outrighted to Triple-A Iowa on May 11 after clearing waivers. He has the option to elect free agency. Martin's career has been significantly hampered by injuries, including Tommy John surgery (2020-2021) and lat tendon surgery (2023), limiting him to 80 2/3 MLB innings across five seasons with a career 6.81 ERA.
