Summary
Cade Povich, 26-year-old left-handed pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles, was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 8, 2026, due to left elbow inflammation (triceps/lateral elbow area). He exited Thursday's game against Miami after just 3 innings and 58 pitches with left forearm discomfort. Manager Craig Albernaz indicated the injury is on the outside of the elbow in the triceps area, not believed to be serious. Povich underwent an MRI and may receive a cortisone injection. This is his second start since being called up from Triple-A on May 1. The Orioles are dealing with significant pitching injuries, with 8 pitchers currently on the IL including Zach Eflin (Tommy John surgery, 60-day IL) and Trevor Rogers (illness). Trey Gibson was called up to replace Povich on the roster.
