Summary

Brendan Donovan (note: sources refer to him as both "Brendan Donovan" and "Brenden Dixon") has returned from a 10-day injured list stint with the Seattle Mariners after undergoing offseason sports hernia surgery. He suffered a left groin muscle strain on April 17-18, 2026, which was complicated by a hip injury sustained during a diving catch on March 28. Donovan completed a rehab assignment with Double-A Arkansas, going 1-for-3 with a double, RBI, and two walks. He was reinstated to the active roster and returned to the lineup as the leadoff hitter and third baseman against the White Sox in Chicago. Before the injury, Donovan was performing at an elite level with a .304 batting average, .437 OBP, .518 SLG, .954 OPS, 3 home runs, 3 doubles, and 8 RBIs over 18 games (71 plate appearances). He is a former NL Gold Glove winner and All-Star who was acquired by Seattle in an offseason trade to bolster the lineup.

Strengths

  • Strong plate discipline with 9 walks to 12 strikeouts ratio
