Summary
Ryan Helsley (Orioles closer) suffered an elbow injury and was placed on the 15-day IL on May 1, 2026. As of mid-May, he has not yet been cleared to throw but has responded well to anti-inflammatory medication with no ligament damage reported. He began flat-ground throwing work from 75 feet on May 16 and is expected to progress over two weeks before a rehab assignment. A mid-June return is feasible. Rico Garcia has handled save opportunities in his absence.
