Summary
Ryan Helsley, Baltimore Orioles closer, is recovering from right elbow inflammation. As of mid-May 2026, he has progressed from initial rest to flat-ground throwing work (approximately 30 throws from 75 feet). Medical scans and doctor reviews were encouraging with no ligament damage detected. Helsley expects to remain on a two-week progression before an injury rehab assignment, with a mid-June return feasible. He has been cleared to run and work out, and hopes to resume throwing in the near future. Prior to injury, he posted a 2.53 ERA with 7 saves in 12 appearances.
